India is scheduled to tour Zimbabwe in the month of August to play three-match ODI series, starting from 16th August at Harare Sports Club, Harare
The BCCI have announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming tour of the Zimbabwe. Shikhar Dhawan will lead the side for the upcoming ODI series against Zimbabwe. On the other hand, Zimbabwe Cricket Board yet to announce their ODI squad for the upcoming three-match series.
Shubnam Gill, Ruturaj Gaekwad, Avesh Khan, Sanju Samson and Rahul Tripathi are promising players picked for the three-match ODI series against Zimbabwe. For India, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Mohammed Siraj, Avesh Khan and Prasidh Krishna are prominent pacers for the forthcoming ODI series.
Axar Patel, Washington Sundar and Kuldeep Yadav are prominent spinners for the tour of Zimbabwe. Deepak Hooda is another part-time spin option for India for this tour.
On the other hand, Zimbabwe have yet to announce their limited-overs squad for the home series against India. Middle-order batsman Craig Ervine will lead the side for the three-match ODI series.
In the batting department, the onus will be on the likes of Craig Ervine, Sikandar Raza, I Kaia and Sean Williams to deliver the bulk of the runs.
Since 5th August 2020, Middle-order batsman Sikandar Raza has topped the batting charts for Zimbabwe. In ten matches played, Raza has accumulated 347 runs at an average of 49.57 with four half-centuries to his name.
Besides Raza, Captain Craig Ervine shown decent form for the Zimbabwe and accumulated 283 runs at an average of 35.37 with three half-centuries to his name.
It will be interesting to see whether the duo of Blessing Muzarabani and Tendai Chatara will be fit in time for the upcoming three-match ODI series against India.
Since 5th August 2020, Medium-pacer Richard Ngarava has shown decent form with the ball in hand for Zimbabwe. In seven ODIs played for the Zimbabwe, Ngarava has claimed 10 wickets at an average of 32.00.
Besides Ngarava, pacer Wellington Masakadza has taken four wickets in seven outings at an average of 52.50.
On the other hand, India will be relying on their star players to deliver the goods with bat and ball against Zimbabwe.
Since 5th August, opener Shikhar Dhawan has shown decent form in the 50-over format. In 10 matches played, Dhawan has accumulated 388 runs at an average of 43.11 with four half-centuries to his name.
Besides Dhawan, opener Shubnam Gill has shown excellent form for India at the top of the innings. The right hander has accumulated 205 runs in three outings at an average of 102.50 with two half-centuries to his name.
Since 5th August, pacer Prasidh Krishna has shown excellent form for India in the limited-overs format. In nine ODIs played, Krishna has claimed 15 wickets at an average of 23.06.
Besides Krishna, right-arm quick Mohammed Siraj has claimed 11 wickets at an average of 25.09.
All the three-matches of the one-day series will be played at Harare Sports Club on 18th, 20th and 22nd August respectively.
The Men in Blue will be looking to continue their winning momentum in the upcoming one-day series against Zimbabwe.
